As the design lead at the Library of Congress, one of my directives was to find ways to make LOC appealing to a wider audience. Much of the public only saw the institution as a repository for books and had no idea it had one of the largest museum collections of Americana in the country - comic books, movie memorabilia, stuffed animals, music, photography etc. I often mixed very different genres to convey the breadth of their holdings. Shown are banners used on the website and large LED displays used at the National Book Festival.
